Lemon Sun is a vigorous hybrid (F1) variety of patty pan summer squash known for its high yields of uniform, bright yellow fruit. Unlike some other yellow varieties, Lemon Sun remains pure yellow with no green on the blossom end. Scalloped, disc-shaped fruit that is bright yellow with a tulip-like profile and bright green stems. It grows as a compact bush, typically reaching 24–36 inches in height and spreading 3–4.5 feet wide. Fruits are best harvested as “baby” squash (1–3 inches wide) with the flower still attached, or at a mature size of 4–5 inches wide. Edible Blossoms: This variety sets a high number of male flowers, making it an excellent choice for harvesting and frying squash blossoms. Consistent watering is essential. Because it is an F1 hybrid, it is specifically bred for vigor and productivity in garden beds
