Programming at the Cornucopia Community Garden in Peterborough

Wee Seeds (Pre-school)girl

Organized by: Cornucopia Project staff

Introduce your pre-school child to the wonderful world of “getting dirty”, with hands-on garden exploration.  Children will have an opportunity to plant seeds, discover worms and insects, play garden games, listen to stories, all while learning where their food comes from!

Who: 3 to 5 years of age

When: Wednesdays, May 8 through 29 (4 weeks)

Time: 10 to 11 a.m.

Where: Cornucopia Community Garden

Cost: $30/residents; $35/non-residents

Note: Limited to 9 students

 

 

Garden Scouts (After school)

Organized by: Cornucopia Project staff

We’re not just sprouting young gardeners with
our new “Garden Scout” program, but giving children

a chance to learn some creative and fun garden-related

crafts.  Students will also plant and take care of seedlings

that will grow throughout the summer for the local food

pantries.  PES students are met after school and walked

down to the garden.

Who: Kids in grades 1st through 5th

When: Wednesdays, May 8 through 29 (4 weeks)
Time: 3:15 to 5 p.m.

Where: Cornucopia Community Garden

Cost: $50/residents; $55/non-residents

Note: Limited to 11nast students

 

Garden Scouts (Summer)
Organized by: Cornucopia Project staff

This program is an extension of the after-school Garden Scout program (see description).  We’ll be making plant markers, building bird houses, sewing

harvest bags, and much more.  If your child is creative, loves the outdoors, and wants to be inspired by nature and veggies. . .this is the program for them!

Who: Kids in grades 2 through 6th

When: Wednesdays, June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24 (5 weeks)

Time: 10 to 12 p.m.

Where: Cornucopia Community Garden

Cost: $65/residents; $70/non-residents; $10 materials fee
