Kids love to eat what they grow in the garden… Now let’s get them into the kitchen!
Our Cool Chef program provides students in grades 3 through 6 the opportunity to expand their knowledge of preparing healthy food while working alongside their peers. This is a fun and engaging after-school program for students of all skill levels. Recipes include healthy snacks, nutritious lunches, delicious dinners, and baking as well! Some ingredients will be sourced directly from the garden. See samples of previous class recipes here.
Cool Chefs is held at the Peterborough Community Center Kitchen on Elm Street. Those students attending Peterborough Elementary School can take after-school bus #19 to the center, and South Meadow students can take bus #16.
Scholarships: We are grateful to the Keith M. Sullivan Foundation and United Natural Foods for providing a number of scholarships during previous last Cool Chef sessions.
We are currently working to expand Cool Chefs to more young healthy food enthusiasts! Stay tuned for information about our next series of classes to begin in February 2018.
